The Omoluabi Movement has intensified its grassroots mobilization efforts across Ogun State with strategic engagements in Imeko-Afon and Ewekoro Local Government Areas, reinforcing political structures and strengthening ties with key stakeholders.
In Imeko-Afon Local Government Area, leaders and members of the movement paid a courtesy visit that attracted a large gathering of party faithful, traditional rulers, and community leaders. The delegation was led by Pa. Olayiwola Samuel Olutunji and received by the LGA Coordinator, Pa. Mashanwo Zacheus.
The event witnessed the presence of traditional rulers, led by HRM Oba D.A.A Adeyanju, alongside APC chieftains and supporters. Activities at the gathering included prayers led by Pastor Adepoju, rendition of the Ogun State APC anthem, and the Omoluabi Movement slogan, reflecting strong unity among members.
Speakers at the event highlighted the growth and structure of the movement. Chief Ogbonikan Amos provided insights into its origin, while Hon. Salako Ismail and the Ogun State Deputy Coordinator, Hon. Olanrewaju Lookman Yakubu, spoke on ongoing initiatives. Yakubu disclosed plans for empowerment programmes and the distribution of 30 branded buses across the 26 constituencies in the state to boost grassroots mobilization.
In his remarks, Pa. Olutunji emphasized that the movement remains well-structured from the state level down to the grassroots, assuring members of the benefits of active participation. Other stakeholders, including Alhaji Alimi A. Ganiyu, Princess (Hon.) Adedeji Fausat, and Alhaji Bariyu Raheem, also expressed support for the movement’s direction.
Similarly, in Ewekoro Local Government Area, the movement extended its outreach during a courtesy visit to apex leaders held at Hilltop, Abeokuta. The delegation, led by the Ogun Central Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Akeem Sobayo Adesina (Alaga Mesan), used the opportunity to formally introduce the movement and share its vision.
Adesina explained that the Ọmọlúàbí Movement evolved from the Dapo Abiodun Continuity Agenda (DACA) following the re-election of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun. He noted that the movement now plays a broader political role, including support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, as well as the senatorial ambition of Governor Abiodun and the governorship aspiration of Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi.
As part of the visit, the delegation presented a cash donation of ₦500,000 on behalf of the convener, Armstrong Temitope Akintunde, to the apex leaders in Ewekoro.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chairman of the Apex Leaders, Engr. Shina Adegbenro, appreciated the gesture and commended the movement for its recognition of grassroots leadership, pledging continued support and collaboration.
The dual engagements underscore the Omoluabi Movement’s commitment to strengthening political participation and consolidating its presence across communities in Ogun State.
