Ahead of the 2027 general elections, apex leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibeju-Lekki have unanimously endorsed the member representing Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Bayo Balogun, for a third term in office.

Balogun, who currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Electoral matters, was endorsed during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting attended by key party leaders and political office holders in the constituency.

The leaders cited his dedication, effective representation, and delivery of impactful projects and empowerment programmes as reasons for their decision, noting that the endorsement was aimed at ensuring continuity, unity, and sustained development in Ibeju-Lekki.

They described the move as consistent with democratic traditions in Nigeria, recalling a similar endorsement in October 2002 when then-Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu was backed for a second term, a development they said reinforced continuity in governance.

Among the apex leaders present at the meeting were Dr. Tola Kasali, Alhaji Bode Oyedele, and Alhaji Tunde Isiak. Also in attendance were the APC Chairman in Ibeju-Lekki, Hon. Aliasau Eletu, and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, including Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adebola, Chief Whip representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, and Hon. Oladele Ajayi, representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency II.

Other notable stakeholders at the meeting included Hon. Abdul Kabir Ogungbo, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Taxation and Revenue; Alhaji Idowu Eletu, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly; and Alhaji Shoniyi, a former council chairman.

Also present were the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, and the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Engr. Rasak Bamidele Kasali, alongside several former council chairmen, party leaders, and grassroots mobilisers.

Speaking after the meeting, party leaders emphasized that the endorsement reflects a collective commitment to continuity and progress, stressing that experienced legislators are better positioned to attract development projects and effectively represent their constituents.

They noted that sustaining Balogun’s representation would enable the constituency to benefit from ongoing and future federal initiatives, adding that legislative experience remains a critical factor in effective governance.

The leaders also called on party members and residents of Ibeju-Lekki to remain united and committed to peaceful political engagement as the primaries and general elections approach.

The endorsement signals early political alignment within the APC in Ibeju-Lekki, as stakeholders position for what is expected to be a keenly contested 2027 electoral cycle.

Meanwhile, Otunba Abdulrafiu Nowoola, the Kakanfo of Ilara Epe, Lagos State, and APC leader in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, has congratulated Hon. Bayo Balogun, the member representing Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, on his emergence as the consensus candidate for the constituency in the forthcoming general election.

The hotel magnate expressed confidence that Hon. Balogun possesses the vision and competence required to deliver purposeful representation to his constituents.

This news platform reports that Otunba Nowoola is a hotelier and the CEO of PrimeMeridian Hotels and Restaurants, Awoyaya, Ibeju-Lekki, as well as the Chairman of PestBGone Fumigators and Allied Services Providers.

He is also a philanthropist par excellence, the CEO of Done Right Standard, and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Lekki Country Club (TLCC), Lagos.
