The Olisa-in-Council under the leadership of Olisa Adeoye Adesanya has affirmed the lawful installation of Prince Omololu Adewale Odukoya as the Olurasonwa of Rasonwa, putting to rest concerns and controversies surrounding the ascension to the traditional stool.

In an official statement made available to newsmen, the Council clarified that due process was strictly followed in the selection and installation of Prince Odukoya. It noted that all customary rites, consultations, and approvals required under the Chieftaincy matters in Ijebuland were duly observed.

According to the Council, the emergence of Prince Odukoya reflects the collective will of the kingmakers and the people of Rasonwa, emphasizing that his installation aligns with established customs and long-standing succession practices.

The Olisa-in-Council further stated that the installation was conducted in accordance with tradition, with the full participation of recognized authorities and stakeholders within the community. It dismissed claims of irregularities as unfounded, urging members of the public to disregard misinformation.

The Council called on all sons and daughters of Rasonwa, both at home and in the diaspora, to support the newly installed Olurasonwa in the discharge of his traditional responsibilities.

“As custodians of our customs and traditions, we stand by the legitimacy of this process and urge all stakeholders to work together for the peace and advancement of Rasonwa,” the statement concluded.
