Dr. Okeowo Withdraws from OGHA APC Primary Election.

…Collapses Political Structure for Consensus Candidate

An aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Dr. Demola Okeowo, has stepped down from the APC primary election for the House of Assembly seat in Ijebu North Local Government Constituency I in support of the party’s consensus candidate, Mr. Bosun Ipaye.

Dr. Okeowo made this known during a press conference held at the APC Secretariat in Ijebu Igbo.

He stated that after extensive consultations with party leaders, respected elders, political associates, and key stakeholders within the party, he decided to withdraw from the race in the interest of party unity and discipline.

“In line with the spirit of unity, loyalty, discipline, and collective interest, I have decided to step down unconditionally in support of the party’s consensus candidate,” he said.

“This decision was not taken out of weakness, fear, or lack of capacity. Indeed, many within and outside the party strongly believe that I possess the competence, popularity, credibility, and winning capacity required to emerge victorious at the polls.

“Nevertheless, as a loyal party man and a firm believer in democratic values and party supremacy, I have chosen the path of honour, maturity, sacrifice, and statesmanship,” he added.

Dr. Okeowo further announced the collapse of his political structure into that of the party’s consensus candidate, Mr. Bosun Ipaye.

He also called on his supporters, coordinators, youths, women groups, stakeholders, and political associates across all wards and communities to fully mobilize and work tirelessly for the success of the APC in the forthcoming general election.

Speaking at the event, the APC Vice Chairman in Ijebu North Local Government, Hon. Adesegun Adenola, commended Dr. Okeowo for stepping down in support of the party’s consensus candidate, describing the decision as a demonstration of maturity, sacrifice, and statesmanship.
