LG BOSS CALLS FOR UNITY, PEACE, SACRIFICE

The Vice Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Alhaji Isiaka Salami, has extended warm greetings to Muslims across the State as they join millions of faithful worldwide to celebrate the 2026 Eid-il-Kabir festival.

Speaking during an interactive session with Journalists, Salami urged citizens to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, peace, compassion and unity.

He described Eid-il-Kabir as one of the most spiritually significant festivals in Islam, symbolising obedience to God, selflessness, humility and unwavering faith.

The celebration, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorated Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in total submission to the command of Almighty Allah, while in His mercy, God provided a ram as a substitute.

Salami, urged Muslim faithful to embrace the values of love, devotion, tolerance, generosity, forgiveness and compassion during the season. He described these virtues as indispensable to peaceful coexistence, communal harmony and sustainable national development.

He added that the Eid-il-Kabir served as a reminder for people to rise above selfish interests and embrace collective responsibility, mutual respect and service to humanity in order to build a stronger and more united nation.
