Ogun State House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of Hon. Olayemi Adebayo Sanusi for appointment as Commissioner in the State Executive Council following his screening at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Presiding over the plenary, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, alongside other lawmakers, charged the nominee to remain a worthy ambassador of Odeda Local Government by upholding the high standard associated with the local government council area when appointed into office.

The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the Committee of the Whole House chaired by the Speaker and presented during the plenary by Hon. Lukman Adeleye, who noted that the lawmakers were satisfied with the nominee’s credentials and performance during the screening exercise.

According to the resolution of the House, the confirmation was in line with the request forwarded by the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, seeking legislative approval for the appointment of Hon. Sanusi as Commissioner after the lawmakers examined his curriculum vitae and interviewed him.

Earlier, Hon. Adeleye moved the motion for the adoption of the report of the Committee, seconded by Hon. Babatunde Tella and supported by all the lawmakers, through a voice vote; while Hon. Damilare Bello seconded the motion converting the report into the resolution of the House before its eventual approval.

Following the confirmation, the Speaker directed the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, to transmit the House resolution to the Governor for further necessary action.

Hon. Olayemi Adebayo Sanusi, a native of Odeda Local Government, was until his nomination serving as Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security.
