CSR: PRIMARY SCHOOL OBTAINS TOILET FACILITIES FROM DONOR



Towards improving educational infrastructure and raising the bars of sanitation within the school environment, the Alice Aniebo Soile Foundation (TAASF), has donated an 8- block modern toilet facility to St. Paul’s Primary School, Makun, Sagamu.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, HRM. Oba Babatunde Ajayi, represented by the Ewusi of Makun, Sagamu, HRH. Oba Timothy Akinsanya, revealed that the facility which included a water system, overhead tank and generator reflected a shared commitment to creating a safer, healthier and more conducive learning environment for both pupils and teachers, adding that it would also enhance the overall well-being and development of pupils as well as teachers.

While appreciating the donor’s commitment to service and development of the education sector, Oba Ajayi said the gesture would create a lasting impact and be useful for the people of the  community, calling on other philanthropists to emulate the gesture as a way of giving back to their Alma mata.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Odulate, represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Salami, appreciated the donor, Prof. Lai Soile, for preserving his mother’s legacy through meaningful community development, saying that the intervention followed a similar sanitation project donated by the Foundation to St. Paul’s Primary School, Aiyepe road, which had further demonstrated its sustained investment in education and social infrastructure.

Speaking at the event, the Hon. Commissioner for environment, Hon. Ola Oresanya and the Asiwaju Solomon Onafowokan, lauded Prof. Lai Soile, for the initiative, stressing the importance of maintaining hygienic learning environment.

While thanking the donor and other philanthropists for their support to improve the education sector in the State, Executive Secretary, Sagamu Local Government Education Authority, Apostle Kola Okubote, stressed the need for donors to also invest more in their old primary schools which remained the base for education as lots of facility would be needed to further enhance the well-being and development of the pupils.
