GOV. ABIODUN’S LEADERSHIP FORSTER PEACE, STABILITY IN OGUN -AKINMADE

The Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, has attributed the visible and continuous peace enjoyed in the State to the deliberate policy by Governor Dapo Abiodun, to ensure all round peace and stability across the State.

Hon. Akinmade, made the assertion in Abeokuta while fielding questions from Journalists on the achievements of the Governor Abiodun-led administration in the last seven years.

The Special Adviser stressed the importance of peace as a catalyst needed to engender socio-economic development as progress would not be made in the atmosphere of chaos.

"One thing you cannot take away from this government is the peace and stability that we are enjoying in the State. You can breathe the air of freedom, peace anywhere you go in Ogun State.

"The peace and stability did not come by accident. It is the policy of government to ensure that we create enabling environment that engendered development,’’ he said.

Akinmade, attributed the influx of local industrialists and foreign investors to Ogun State to the solid foundation, conducive and business friendly environment put in place for industries to thrive, thus creating employment to the people.

He said the springing up of companies and industries as well as other business activities, had contributed to the State economic movement from a N3trn to a N17trn economy, making the State the fastest growing economy in the country.

He said ISEYA was formulated to provide infrastructure, social development, top-notch education, youth, women and men empowerment and creating enabling environment for agriculture to thrive in the State.

He said the government in the last seven years has constructed, reconstructed and rehabilitated more than 1700 kilometers of roads across the 20 Local Government Areas, while new housing estates were built in major towns to cater for different categories of people who troop to the State on daily basis.

The Special Adviser noted that the present administration had also built a world class Airport with the state-of-the-art aviation facilities, adding that the Airport was recently used to airlift the State contingents to this year's Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

He revealed that the State government had touched all sectors including; agriculture, social development, youth and women development and empowerment and encouraged skills acquisition as well as ICT development through the establishment of OgunTecHub, to produce information technology savvy youths.

He affirmed that the Governor had completed all the abandoned projects of the past administration, saying it was done to ensure that the State fund committed to such projects did not go down the drain.

Hon. Akinmade, noted that the Governor had performed beyond expectation to the surprise of those who did not believe in his ability to deliver, emphasising that the Governor is determined to leave the State better than he met it, come May 29, 2027.
