Ogun Councillor Awards Scholarships to Eight Primary School Pupils, Donates Writing Materials



…Enrols Over 100 Students for NIN Registration


In a bid to promote education and support the welfare of students in his constituency, the Councillor representing Ward 6 and Deputy Leader of the Ijebu Ode Local Government Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Saula Adeshola Ogundare, has awarded 3 Year’s scholarships to eight outstanding primary school pupils, donated writing materials to students, Fully Equipped First Aid Box, and facilitated the free enrolment of over 100 pupils for the National Identification Number (NIN).


The beneficiaries were drawn from Christ Church Primary School and Muslim Primary School, both located in Sabo, Ijebu Ode.


The initiative, which took place on the premises of the schools, was attended by teachers, community leaders, and residents, who commended the gesture as a significant investment in the future of the children.


Speaking during the event, Hon. Ogundare said the scholarship awards were designed to encourage academic excellence among young learners and ease the financial burden on their parents.


The lawmaker noted that education remains one of the most effective tools for community development and urged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their studies.


According to him, the donation of exercise books, pens, a fully equipped First Aid Box, and other learning materials was aimed at providing students with the basic resources needed to excel academically.


The councillor also disclosed that more than 100 students were enrolled free of charge for the National Identification Number (NIN) as part of efforts to ensure that young people in the community are properly captured in the national database and can access government services and opportunities.


He emphasized the importance of the NIN registration exercise, describing it as a crucial step toward effective identity management and social inclusion.



The Headteacher, Christ Church Primary School, Mrs. Oyesanya Omolola Serifat, expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as a timely and impactful gesture that would positively affect many families.


Also speaking, Mrs. Kehinde-Phillips Anthonia, a teacher at Christ Church Primary school, lauded the councillor for prioritizing education and youth development, urging other public office holders to emulate the initiative.


Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss Jiburu Ifunaya Faith, one of the scholarship recipients, appreciated the lawmaker’s kind gesture, noting that the support would motivate her and other pupils to remain focused on their studies and strive for greater academic success.



The scholarship beneficiaries from the two schools are: Aladerokun Isaac Adeniran, Jiburu Ifunaya Faith, Olaniyi Ideraoluwa Odunayo, Tajudeen Ibrahim Eniola, Musiludeen Azeenat, Oyenuga Oluwagbemisola, Bello Faithia, and Thompson Precious.


This news platform further reports that the best 20 pupils from each of the two schools were presented with mathematical sets and Other Learning Materials in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.
