Announcing the results, the Returning Officer of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Mr. Olusogo Otelaja, said Osho secured a landslide victory with 1,730 votes out of the 1,741 total votes cast.

According to the results declared by OGSIEC, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled five votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) garnered four votes to place second and third respectively.

Otelaja stated that voting commenced at 8:00 a.m. across the ward, with adequate security personnel deployed to ensure a peaceful exercise. He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of voters and party agents, noting that the election was orderly and devoid of any major incidents.

Speaking on the exercise, OGSIEC Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, described the bye-election as peaceful, free and credible. Represented by a Commissioner in the Commission, Mrs. Gbemi Onasanya, Osibodu commended residents of the ward for their peaceful participation and praised electoral officials and security agencies for their professionalism during the voting and collation processes.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Jamiu Asimi, lauded OGSIEC for conducting a smooth and transparent election. He equally commended the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun for its developmental initiatives across the state.

In his reaction, the newly elected councillor, Mr. Monsuru Osho, expressed gratitude to the electorate for their overwhelming support and confidence in his candidacy. He also appreciated Governor Abiodun for the opportunity to serve and pledged to work closely with the local government administration to advance development and improve the welfare of residents in the ward.

Some voters at the collation centre, including Messrs. Kehinde Fasola and Moses Adewuyi, described the electoral process as peaceful, transparent and well-organised.

The bye-election was conducted to fill the vacancy created by the death of the former councillor representing the ward, the late Hon. Nurudeen Bakare.
