The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Ogun State Chapter, has distanced itself from reports claiming that farmers in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government welcomed and endorsed the governorship ambition of Hon. Ladi Adebutu.

In a press statement issued on behalf of the association’s State Chairperson, Alhaja Ganiyat Ibilola Kusimo, AFAN described the report as false and misleading, insisting that no local government chapter of the association in Ogun State organized, participated in, or endorsed the gathering.

According to the statement, the AFAN Chairman in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government and members of the association confirmed they had no knowledge of such an event.

The association emphasized that AFAN remains a non-partisan body committed to promoting the welfare, development, and interests of farmers across Ogun State, adding that it does not engage in or endorse partisan political activities in the name of the association.

AFAN further stated that any individual who attended the gathering or claimed to represent farmers did so in a personal capacity and should not be regarded as speaking on behalf of the association.

The association urged members of the public to disregard the report and seek clarification from the official leadership of AFAN, Ogun State, on issues relating to the association.

The statement was signed by the Ogun State AFAN Youth Chairman, Hon. Jamiu Kolawole Adebukanla, on behalf of the State Chairperson, Alhaja Ganiyat Ibilola Kusimo.
