Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Olarenwaju Saka, has charged Spouses of Ogun State Government Functionaries to continue in maintaining a peaceful and comfortable home front for their husbands so as to enable them perform optimally in their statutory responsibilities.
The Head of Service gave the advice to wives of Permanent Secretaries, who belonged to the body of Spouses of Ogun State Government Functionaries Association (SOGSFA), led by the wife of the Head of Service, Mrs. Adenike Saka, when he received them in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Mr. Saka, said that their husbands by the exigencies of their duties, spend longer hours in the office, attending to government business and therefore needed homemakers who would give them peace of mind in order to concentrate on the job for effective and efficient service delivery.
"This special visit that has a large turnout of the wives of Permanent Secretaries, showed that the body of the permanent secretaries is solidly behind me and I will not take this support for granted," the HoS said.
Responding on behalf of the spouses, the wife of the HoS said they were ready to support him and their husbands to accomplish the desired goals of the State just as they offered prayer for him and the State in general.
Mr. Saka, also received the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Teaches (NUT) Ogun State wing led by their chairman, Comrade Noah Sewakanu, who were in his office to felicitate with him on his appointment as the 21st Head of Service in the State.
He charged them to always prioritise the student’s educational growth in order to help them in maintaining excellence, discipline and high standard that the State is always known for.
He enjoined them to be modest in dressing, focused in actions and conducts and should upgrade the standard in which teachers were known for as respected leaders in the community.
Earlier, Comrade Noah Sewakanu, said the visit was to congratulate him, wish him well in his new assignment, pray for him to excel and achieve greater frontiers than his forbears in the office.
He however used the opportunityof the visit to table the challenges confronting the Union before the Head of Service.
