The Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, who is a member representing Yewa South State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi has disassociated herself from the purported defection of one of her former Personal Assistants, Mr. Adekunle Ridwan Adesola, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), clarifying that Adesola's action was his personal political decision, and did not in any way reflect her political ideology.
"My attention has been drawn to the recent public announcement of the defection of MR ADEKUNLE RIDHWAN ADESOLA one of my former Personal Aides from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People's Democratic Party (PDP), as well as attempts in some quarters to associate his personal political decision with me and my political ideology.
For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state categorically that the decision of the said Personal Assistant to leave the APC for the PDP was taken entirely on his own, as a full grown adult without my knowledge, consultation, consent, approval, or endorsement.
No doubt, his action is purely his personal decision, constitutional right to freedom of political association, therefore for the avoidance of doubt, I want to state unequivocally that this decision should not, under any circumstance, be construed as reflecting my political position or that of my supporters.
I reiterate that as the Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, my political commitment and loyalty remain unwavering. In line with my political ideology, I will continue to stand firmly with the ideals and aspirations of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and continue to remain a committed stakeholder, believer and active advocate of the Ogun West Governorship Project, which I consider a just, equitable, and historic aspiration deserving of the support of all well-meaning citizens of Ogun State.
I therefore urge the general public, especially my political associates, APC party faithfuls, my esteemed supporters, and the media to disregard any unfounded rumour, insinuation, speculation, or misinformation linking the personal decision of the said former Personal Assistant to my political career, principles, or future political engagements.
His action is entirely personal and should neither be interpreted as my position nor used to draw any conclusions regarding my political direction.
My political philosophy, loyalty, and commitment remain unchanged, and I will continue to work diligently and relentlessly in the interest of the people of Ogun State; while supporting every legitimate effort towards the actualization of the Ogun West Governorship Agenda as represented by our amiable candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi.
Let me unequivocally assure that, I remain committed to the aspirations of Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola (YAYI), as the APC Governorship Candidate, and by God's grace our incoming Governor, with the support of our dear leader, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON the Executive Governor of our dear State and other stakeholders.
And I shall do everything within the ambit of existing electoral rules and regulations to ensure that Senator Olamilekan Adeola emerges victorious in the forthcoming 2027 General Election.
While I appreciate the concern and goodwill of party leaders, members, supporters, and the general public; I reaffirm my unwavering dedication to the progress of our great party, the All Progressives Congress and the development of Ogun State", she concluded.
Signed
Rt. Hon. Bolanle Ajayi Deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly
