Old students of Government Secondary Schools in Ogun State, have been urged to support the efforts of Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s led administration in the education sector by giving back to their alma mater through positive contributions towards educational development, mentorship of younger students and provision of infrastructure that preserves the proud legacy of their old school.

The Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, disclosed this at the dinner organised by 91/96 set of Abeokuta Grammar School Old Boys Association (AGSOBA) to mark the school's 118th Founder's Day at the Mitros Hall, Ibara, Abeokuta.

HoS, said education was far beyond the classroom, as it transcended into mentoring life and leaving footprints that could not be erased, adding that he was fulfilled seeing his contribution and that of his colleagues in the life of the old boys turning out good as responsible members of the society and supporting the giant strides of the government to lift their schools to an enviable height.

"To celebrate three decades of brotherhood is quite encouraging as it gives   strength to the bond that unites you to remain committed in supporting your alma mater," he said.

He revealed that Ogun State Public Service would continue to promote excellence, innovation and ability centred governance under the leadership of Gov. Abiodun through the ISEYA mantra of building our future together agenda and commended their collective commitment to community service and nation building.

Responding, the president of the set, Benjamin Sotunde, said the 30th anniversary of the set would forever be a memorable one as it had afforded them the opportunity to unite with old school mates, relish old memories and give back to their alma mater.

Awards of excellence, recognition and commitment to Service delivery were given to their old teachers among whom is the Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka and some of the set members who belonged to the teaching staff of the School.
