In a bid to strengthen institutional ties and foster strategic partnerships within the engineering sector, the Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE), Abeokuta Branch, Engr. Gbenga Osungboye, led a delegation on a familiarization visit to the leadership of the Ogun State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Ogun RAAMP).

Speaking during the visit, Engr. Gbenga explained that the core objectives of the initiative were to honour past and present leaders who have contributed significantly to the engineering profession, explore avenues for sustained professional relationships, and identify reliable partners to support the branch’s upcoming developmental programmes.

As part of the engagement, the NICE leadership presented a token of appreciation in recognition of outstanding contributions to the growth and advancement of engineering practice in Ogun State.

Highlighting the vision of the current executive committee, Engr. Gbenga emphasized the importance of synergy between professional engineering bodies and key government agencies. He noted that regular capacity-building workshops and collaborative frameworks are essential to ensuring that engineers in the state remain abreast of global best practices and emerging developments in the profession.

By honouring key stakeholders and building strategic alliances, the NICE Abeokuta Branch aims to establish robust support networks that will enhance technical excellence, career progression, and infrastructure development across the state.

In his response, the Project Coordinator of Ogun RAAMP and Director-General of the Rural Access Road Agency (RARA), Engr. Waheed Adejumo, FNSE, warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the leadership of the association for the initiative.

Engr. Adejumo congratulated both the outgoing and incoming executive members for achieving a smooth and conflict-free transition. He particularly praised their exceptional leadership and ability to effectively manage people, resolve differences, and maintain unity within the branch.
