As part of its ongoing efforts to promote staff welfare and organisational wellbeing, the Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC), has conducted a free eye screening exercise for its employees

Speaking during the exercise at the Corporation’s headquarters in Abeokuta, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing and Managing Director of OPIC, Arc. Abiodun Fari-Arole, noted that the eye being a very vital organ in the body, hence, the special care and attention it deserved.

Fari- Arole, noted that the initiative was organised as part of the Corporation’s commitment to addressing the basic health and welfare needs of its workforce, adding that good visual health would contribute significantly to improving productivity and efficiency in the workplace performance.

The OPIC Boss disclosed that the exercise would also be extended to the Corporation’s offices in Agbara, Isheri and Ikeja Plaza, urging all staff to take advantage of the opportunity to have their eyes properly checked.

Also speaking, the Director of Administration and Personnel, OPIC, Mrs. Abidemi Adeyemi, explained that Fari-Arole was deeply committed to the welfare and health of staff, adding that under his leadership, OPIC had continued to organise programmes that had benefited employees beyond career development and official training.

Adeyemi, stated further that the eye screening programme was designed to provide staff with conveniency and free access to eye care, especially for those who did not have financial resources, time to visit the hospital or opticians for regular eye checks, adding that, the exercise was to promote good eye health and ensure that they remain healthy and able to work effectively in a conducive environment.

Contributing, a facilitator from Sweet Frames Optical Dr. Kemi Bakare commended OPIC's management for the initiative, noting that regular eye screening was important for early detection of potential vision problems and the promotion of healthy vision among staff.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Omolade Bashiru, appreciated the management for organising the eye screening exercise, saying that the programme provided them with an opportunity to access the condition of his eyes and expressed gratitude for the appropriate prescription provided following the screening.
