APC Inaugurates Ijebu Central Campaign Committee Ahead Of 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its campaign committee for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, charging members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and rally support for the party’s candidates.

The inauguration, held on Thursday at Legan Hall, Ijebu-Ode, brought together party leaders, stakeholders and supporters from the three local government areas that make up the constituency.

The committee is chaired by the Ogun State Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Hon. Dapo Okubadejo, while a two-term former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, serves as Director-General. Hon. Adebowale Ojuri was named Deputy Director-General.

Also inaugurated were local government coordinators and committees responsible for strategy, finance, publicity, mobilisation, welfare, protocol, digital media, communication and diaspora engagement.

The APC candidate for the House of Representatives, Hon. Razak Oluwakemi Daddah, pledged to prioritise inclusive representation if elected, promising to attract federal projects to the constituency and sponsor legislation that addresses the economic and social needs of his constituents.

Speaking on the committee’s mandate, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye said members were expected to promote the party and its candidates while strengthening engagement with communities across the constituency.

"Our responsibility is to promote our party, promote our candidates and work effectively with everyone, both within and outside the party, as well as with communities across the constituency."

Odeneye expressed confidence in the APC candidates in Ijebu Central, citing their public service records and grassroots experience as key advantages in the forthcoming elections.

He also defended President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, acknowledging the hardship faced by Nigerians but arguing that the policies were necessary to rebuild the economy.

“A lot of people are angry and, at the same time, hungry. But Nigerians are quickly forgetting that when a house is destroyed, rebuilding that house will take some time,” - he said.

To underscore his argument, Odeneye cited the Ijebu-Ode-Ibadan road project, developments in Ogun Waterside and the Sagamu-Benin corridor as examples of federal interventions that could improve connectivity and stimulate economic activity in the region.

He also urged residents to support the APC’s governorship candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, and Governor Dapo Abiodun, describing them as experienced politicians capable of sustaining development initiatives in Ogun State.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, commended party members for their support and contributions to the party’s growth in the council area.

He urged residents to demonstrate their political preferences at the polls by voting for APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Similarly, an APC Ward 9 executive member, Prince Olugbenga Adekoya, described Rasak Daddah as a grassroots politician and called on residents to support his candidacy.

“Honourable Daddah has been a very nice person and a true grassroots man who has worked so well in the constituency. That is why we have decided to throw our full weight behind him,” - Adekoya said.

He added that an APC victory would create opportunities for job creation, infrastructure development and solid economic growth.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the Ogun State GAC Chairman, Pa Okuboyejo; Hon. Bukola Adesanya, popularly known as Bukadex; and the APC Chairman in Ijebu North-East Local Government, Deaconess Badejo.

The inauguration signals the commencement of the APC’s formal campaign mobilisation in Ijebu Central Federal Constituency as political parties and stakeholders begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.
