Siminalayi Fubara has reacted to the call for his reinstatement as the governor of Rivers State by leaders and politicians in the state and Nigeria at large.

The governor, while speaking at the service of songs of the late Edwin Clark, the leader of PANDEF, said his spirit had left there (the Rivers State Government House).

Fubara’s reaction followed speeches by several leaders who spoke at the event on Sunday, calling for his reinstatement as governor.

The leaders took turns to condemn the declaration of a state of emergency in the state and the suspension of the governor, his deputy, and all lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

However, after listening to the leaders, the suspended governor said that everything is not  ‘oshogbe’.

Fubara also distanced himself from their remarks. He described the leaders’ condemnation of his suspension and the state of emergency in the state as “their personal opinions “

“Not everything is by Oshogbe. Do you even know if I want to go back there?” the suspended governor queried.

“My spirit has already left there,” he added.

He further urged those in attendance to forget politics for a moment and focus on the purpose of the gathering, which is to honour the life of elder statesman Clark.
