The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, recently visited him with two All Progressives Congress (APC) governors to seek peace.
Wike made the statement while speaking to journalists on Monday.
“Fubara came to me with two Governors and one elder statesman. Just that they are both APC Governors. He said he wants peace,” Wike said.
The meeting reportedly took place at Wike’s residence. According to reports, Fubara was accompanied by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, and former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba.
Sources said Fubara “walked straight into Wike’s living room because that’s a familiar terrain” and appealed to the Minister to end the political tension between them.
Governor Fubara was suspended by President Bola Tinubu in March following the escalation of the dispute with Wike over political control in the state.
