Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the massive defection of party leaders from the opposition party to the newly adopted coalition party, African Democratic Congress (ADC) is uncalled for
Speaking during a Channels Television interview on Friday, George said the reason behind the defections can be ascribed to existential imbecility and docility.
He said, “As a retired General, you do an assessment, what is the reason behind all these? You know my conclusion is very simple, it is nothing but existential imbecility or sometimes what you call existential docility.”
George further appealed to PDP members who are on the verge of leaving the party to exercise some patience and work towards making the party work.
The party chieftain likened the crisis rocking the PDP to that of a house owner with a leaking roof.
According to George, one does not leave their father’s House because it is leaking but stays put to ensure the roof is fixed.
He said, “What is it? You’re all just going there, this (PDP) is your father’s house that you built, you contributed to, the house made you, brought you to the limelight, you gained every laurel and recognition by this same your fathers house and because there is a little crisis, is that the cultural thing to do.
“No, you sit in there. If you have a house that is leaking do you run out?” he asked.
Recall that key members and leaders of the PDP have resigned from the party to join the newly adopted coalition party, ADC.
The party members who cited various levels of crisis rocking the PDP said they joined the ADC with the view to ousting President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress from power at the 2027 general elections.
