The Ogun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has commenced a monitoring exercise of key legacy projects in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, accountability and sustainable development across the State.

Commissioner in the Ministry, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment towards enhancing the well-being of its citizens, prompted the decision to release funds to the 20 Local Government Chairmen to effectively execute developmental projects at the grassroots.

Represented by the Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Biola Adesina, the Commissioner explained that the objective of the exercise was to ensure judicious use of released funds so as to improve the socio –economic wellbeing of residents.

He added that the monitoring exercise was essential for assessing the progress and quality of ongoing projects, ensuring compliance with set standards, and timely completion.

"We are here to evaluate the level of completion and compliance with approved specifications. It is our duty to ensure that all projects align with the ISEYA mantra of the state government,” he said.

Speaking, Chairman Obafemi Owode Local Government, Hon. Lanre Ogunsola, expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the continued support and funding for local projects, reassured that his administration remains committed to delivering democratic dividends to all parts of Obafemi Owode LGA.

Some of the projects monitored were; a motorised borehole at Derupatan Village (Ajebo Ward), a block of 10-classrooms at Maba (Ofada Ward) and the asphalt laying of a 60-meter stretch of Ogidan/Local Government Secretariat Road, among others.
