ANBROAD Week Kicks Off with Jummat Prayer

The Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD) officially commenced its annual ANBROAD Week today (Friday) with a spiritually uplifting Jummat prayer held at the Ansarudeen Central Mosque. The event symbolized unity, gratitude, and the importance of faith in professional service.

Members of the association—including executives, broadcasters, media professionals, and invited guests—gathered in reverence to seek divine guidance and blessings for the week-long lineup of activities.

The prayer session was led by respected Islamic cleric, Sheikh Mustapha Oredipe, Missioner of Ansarudeen, who offered special supplications for the media industry, the nation, and the continued growth and impact of ANBROAD.

In his brief address after the prayer, ANBROAD Governor, Gbenga Goke Fadiran, emphasized the importance of beginning the week on a spiritual note.

“We believe that as broadcasters who shape narratives and influence society, it is vital to remain grounded in our values. Starting this week with prayer reminds us of our responsibility and the power of faith in our journey,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the Zonal Coordinator for ANBROAD Ijebu and Remo, Otunba Olalekan Muhideen, expressed appreciation to the state executives for organizing the week-long activities, noting their dedication to advancing the goals of the association.

The Jummat prayer marks the beginning of a series of events scheduled for ANBROAD Week, which celebrates the vital role of broadcasters in national development and provides a platform for professional engagement, capacity building, and community outreach.

Upcoming highlights include a thanksgiving service and a special grand finale night to honor outstanding contributors to the broadcasting profession.

As ANBROAD Week unfolds, members of the public and media stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the various activities, as the association continues to champion excellence, ethics, and innovation in broadcasting.
