…Kabiyesi to Install New Iyalode, Otunba Jadiara Oct 4th, 2025.

The peaceful and historic town of Irete-Ijebu is set to witness a significant stride in community development as plans are underway for the construction of a state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Center and a modern Maternity Clinic.

This dual project, spearheaded by  key stakeholders in the community, aims to enhance access to digital literacy, improve healthcare delivery, and uplift the standard of living for residents of the town and neighboring communities.

According to Otunba Saheed Dosumu, in an interview recently, said the ICT Center will serve as a hub for youth empowerment, offering training in digital skills, entrepreneurship, and computer literacy adding that the Maternity Clinic, on the other hand, will provide accessible  maternal and child healthcare services, addressing a long-standing gap in the community's healthcare infrastructure.

Recall that Oba Awokoya-Yesufu recently visited the SACOETEC management, where he informed them about the construction of the ICT Center and the Maternity Clinic. In response, the school management pledged their support for this vision, particularly in terms of logistics.

" Let me tell you this, His Royal Highness, the Kabiyesi of Irete-Ijebu, Oba Dr. Olusegun Awokoya-Yesufu is after the development of Irete-Ijebu, as the projects would bring lasting impact to the town. Kabiyesi also appreciate the Effort of the State Government, under the Leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun for bringing development to Ogun. 

“This is a new dawn for Irete-Ijebu. We are not only preserving our cultural heritage, but also preparing our people for the future,” he said.

In the same vein, Onirete of Irete-Ijebu, Oba Dr Olusegun Awokoya-Yesufu will on October 4th, 2025, officially install the new Iyalode, Chief (Mrs) Ogoji Idiyat Tope and Otunba Jadiara and Yeye Jadiara, Hon.Otunba Olumide Adesanya and Yeye Otunba Afolashade Adesanya.

Oba Awokoya-Yesufu then thanked the Odogbolu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Diya for his continue support towards Irete-Ijebu Town.

The chieftaincy installations are expected to draw dignitaries, traditional rulers, and community leaders from across the region. 

The new Iyalode and Otunba Jadiara are both respected individuals whose appointments are seen as a strategic move to strengthen the town’s traditional leadership structure.
