Women committee of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ogun State branch has been urged to work in collaboration with the main wing of the union by leveraging on their collective strength and expertise to drive meaningful changes as partners in progress with the Government towards advancing the cause of governance in the State.

Kehinde Onasanya said this while receiving the newly elected executives of NLC Ogun State Women Committee led by the Chairperson, Com Folashade Omoyele in his office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
Mr Onasanya noted that workers as the engine room of government have crucial roles to play in the execution of the various initiatives of government aimed at repositioning the state as the investment destination of choice, adding that the role of the labour unions in shaping and reshaping the narratives cannot be over emphasized .
He said the present administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun is highly focused, responsible and responsive to the welfare of workers in words and deeds and enjoined the leaders to continue to join hands in creating a conducive workplace for the workers.
The Head of Service charged them to focus more on programmes that would improve the capacity of their members for efficient service delivery and avoid actions that may affect their productivity
The Head of Service therefore seized the opportunity to encourage the workers not to see the 2 day off duty palliative as an avenue to shut down government business but as a way to work from home so that government work and governance can continue seamlessly,pointing out that the off day translates into saving cost of transportation
He congratulated them on the wing's recent election that ushered in the new executives, describing it as rancour free and urged them to consolidate on the strength to foster developmental initiatives.
Responding, the Chairperson, Com. Folashade Omoyele expressed gratitude to the State Government for the various policies of the administration aimed at advancing the welfare of the workers and pledged the union's continuous collaboration with the office of the Head of Service in advancing development that benefits all citizens.
She said that the vision of her executive committee for the next four years is to empower women economically, socially, and politically through skills acquisition, financial literacy and leadership development.
The Union, she added, will continue to appreciate the State Governor for his giant strides aimed at repositioning the state in various sectors of the economy
