The Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, has announced the suspension of all tricycle operations within the local government area.

According to a statement made available to Infopalavanews.com, the decision follows recent reports of disorderly conduct, traffic congestion, and violations of public safety regulations by some tricycle operators.

The statement explained that the suspension was taken in the overall interest of public order, effective traffic management, and the need to restore sanity and proper coordination of commercial transport activities within the area.

Furthermore, security agencies and the Local Government Task Force have been directed to enforce the suspension with immediate effect.

Subject: SUSPENSION OF TRICYCLE (MARUWA) OPERATIONS IN ALL GARAGES WITHIN IJEBU-ODE LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Following recent developments and reports of disorderly conduct, congestion, and breaches of public safety regulations involving tricycle (Maruwa) operations in various garages across Ijebu-Ode Local Government, the Local Government Authority hereby announces the immediate suspension of all Maruwa activities within garages pending further review.

This action is taken in the overall interest of public order, traffic control, and the need to restore sanity and proper coordination of commercial transport operations within the local government area.

All relevant unions and garage executives are to ensure strict compliance with this directive. Any individual or group found violating this instruction will be sanctioned in accordance with existing local government laws and transport regulations.

Security agencies and the Local Government Task Force have been directed to enforce this suspension with immediate effect.

While we understand the temporary inconvenience this may cause, the measure is necessary to restructure the system for better organization and safety. Further communication will be issued after a comprehensive review.
