The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has criticised Aloy Ejimakor, one of Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers, for participating in a protest led by Omoyele Sowore in Abuja.

Onanuga said he spotted Ejimakor among a “small group of protesters” mobilised by Sowore and questioned the lawyer’s decision to join what he described as a “shambolic protest.”

He said Ejimakor, being a lawyer, should understand the principle of sub judice, especially as Kanu’s treason case is still before the court.

“The prosecution has concluded its case, and it is now incumbent upon Mr. Ejimakor and the other lawyers to mount a strong defence for Kanu,” Onanuga wrote on X.

He accused the lawyer of resorting to “extra-legal tactics” by aligning with Sowore, whom he referred to as a “career anarchist,” instead of focusing on his client’s defence.

Onanuga added that Ejimakor’s action raises questions about his professional ethics and called on legal authorities to consider appropriate sanctions against him.
