* ...commends state coordinators, executives, members for steadfastness
The Convener of the newly reformed Omoluabi Movement, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde has commended the dedication and commitment of the movement’s state coordinators, executives and members across Ogun State, wishing them all-round success in the New Year.
Akintunde made this known in his New Year message released to journalists on Thursday through the movement’s Director of Media and Publicity, shortly after he gifted members of the group with instant cash transfers to celebrate the New Year.
He noted that the collective contributions of members across various parts of the state have helped position the movement ahead of others, adding that their steadfastness and unity remain key to the group’s growing influence.
The Omoluabi Movement, formerly known as DACA, has evolved into a formidable ideological force with over 30,000 members, championing progressive ideals, participatory democracy, and responsible leadership across Ogun State.
Beyond politics, the movement is focused on nurturing a new generation of democratic leaders committed to accountability, development, and prosperity for both Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
In his message, Akintunde described the New Year as an opportunity for renewed progress and empowerment for members, emphasizing that the movement would intensify efforts aimed at collective growth and capacity building.
“As we enter this New Year, I congratulate all members of the Omoluabi Movement for making it this far. This year undoubtedly represents a season of all-round success and upliftment for us all.
“Our long-standing efforts are already recorded positively, and your individual contributions have continued to strengthen the movement’s momentum among political groups in the state. I wish you all a New Year filled with success and advancement in all areas of life".
The statement further reaffirmed the movement’s unwavering support for its principal, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in the forthcoming senatorial race, as well as for other party candidates under Governor Abiodun's leadership.
Akintunde stressed that the Omoluabi Movement represents more than political alignment, describing it as a call to responsible leadership and active civic participation.
According to him, the movement exemplifies purpose-driven, inclusive, and transformative politics, adding that as Ogun State continues to evolve under visionary leadership, groups like Omoluabi Movement will remain instrumental in shaping a political landscape anchored on service, values, and the collective good.
He also highlighted Prince Abiodun’s experience and leadership qualities, noting that his productive years as governor have deepened his understanding of grassroots representation and national policymaking.
“With his proven track record, calm leadership style, and enduring commitment to excellence, Prince Dapo Abiodun offers not just representation, but reassurance-a promise that quality leadership can, and will, continue,” - Akintunde concluded.
