ADVICE, CONSULTATION OF FOREBEARS INDISPENSABLE FOR A SUCCESSFUL TENURE - HOS





Advice and consultations with forebears in the running of the affairs of State Civil/Public Service have been described as indispensable tools necessary for achieving sustainable successes.


The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka made this known when he received a delegation from the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ARHOSPSs), Ogun State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Engr. Adeniyi Abiola in his Office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.


The Head of Service who was overwhelmed with joy by the presence of his predecessors who came to felicitate and congratulate him on his recent appointment as the 21st HoS in the State, said the immense contributions of the Association to the overall growth and development of the State cannot be taken for granted and solicited for their support to succeed in  Office.


*I will rely so much on your advice and consultations from time to time to move the State forward, in order to consolidate on the legacies of the State's forebears", Mr. Saka said.


He assured that his tenure as the Head of Service would prioritize anything that has to do with empowerment and capacity building, and added that monitoring and evaluation are the key ingredients to sustain these policies and make them work successfully.


Earlier in his submission, the Chairman, Engr. Abiola, said Mr. Saka's pedigree, track record of performance and humane disposition led him to where he is today and expressed confidence that his capability and competence to efficiently and effectively discharge his responsibilities are already in his kitty and urged him to tap from the experiences of the forebears to have an overwhelming success.


Engr. Abiola reeled out the objectives of the Association, their key contributions to good governance of the State, the construction stage of their Secretariat and some challenges facing the Association, and urged the Head of Service to ensure that Ogun State Civil/Public Service maintains its enviable position among comity of States.


In the same vein, the Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka has eulogized the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board's (SUBEB), Chairman and his team for their intentional monitoring which has been producing evident based results and for supporting the ISEYA mantra of the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.


The HoS stated this when the Chairman of the Board, Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, led the board members and management team to the Office of the Head of Service.


According to him, the Board has been representing the government well in all its undertakings and charged them to continue in the good spirit of hard work and dedication to duty, as quality assurance which has been prioritized has changed a lot of things in the education sector.


Earlier, the SUBEB boss, Evang. Ifede said the team came to congratulate the Head of Service and encourage him to continue to forge ahead in his good strides, as qualities of discipline, resilience, perseverance, hard work and dedication that brought him this far should be sustained and entrenched in the Civil Service for optimal results.



The Head of Service also received in his Office members of the Medical and Health Workers' Union of Nigeria led by its Chairman, Mr. Ayodele Odulaja, and the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), led by the State Chairman, Mr. Alaba Olugbewesa.
