The Union of Celestial Church of Christ In Politics, Ogun State chapter has declared its support for the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate in the State, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi ahead of the  upcoming governorship election.

The group also thrown its weight behind the deputy governorship candidate, Mrs Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, saying that  she is fit to deputize Yayi.

The Coordinator of the group, Hon. 

AVSE MICHAEL OLUGBENGA ADEKANMBI (MPIC)made the declaration in an interview with newsmen on Sunday at Eyitedo Cathedral church in Abeokuta.

He said that all members of the union across Ogun State have decided to support Senator Yayi's governorship ambition because of his developmental strides not only in his constituency but the whole Ogun State.

The APC Chieftain informed that the union has been in existence for the past 10 years now with many achievements, saying that he facilitated the invitation of governor Dapo Abiodun to Imeko for their convocation in 2024.

Hon. Adekanmbi maintained that the union will campaign rigorously for the APC governorship and deputy governorship candidates and mobilize massive votes for them at the polls.

He added that Senator Yayi has Ogun state in mind, saying that they believe he will continue the legacy laid down by governor Dapo Abiodun.

"On behalf of the CCC in politics, Ogun State chapter, i want to tell the general public that we are fully in support of Senator Yayi's governorship ambition. This group is launched to support politics because it is written in the Bible that there must be leader, there must be a controller, someone must lead us and that is why we have it in mind to join politics with christianity, we discovered that our aims and objectives is making people know what politics is and how to rule and the way it was written in the Bible would not be known to people and that is 

why it is very necessary for all christians to engage in politics ao that all the good things we were taught in the Bible can be done, and this will bring unity, progress into the setting of Nigeria and the union of celestial church of christ in politics have been in existence for the past 10 years and now that we see that politics is at our corner,  we discovered, we look round we see people that are working, that are doing good  and it is not until when you put someone in  position that you can know his capacity, we all discovered and agreed that Senator Olamilekan Adeola ,Yayi should be our candidate because we have seen all his good jobs, he has been doing. He is kind and gentle.  He is free to approach at anytime, we can see that he  has Ogun state in mind,  being a Senator, we can all  see all projects he has facilitated into Ogun State, talk of roads, market, schools, streetlights and many more, everywhere, every corner in Ogun State, Yes he is representing Ogun West but he didn't stop there but extended his developmental strides to every part of the state. He used all his connections and opportunities on his table to serve everywhere in the State, with all these, we decided to declare our support for him ahead of the polls and also the deputy governorship candidate, Mrs Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun has contributed immensely to the development of Ogun State and we can see from her records that she has contributed immensely to humanity so all celestials in Ogun State that are our members, we cut across everywhere in Ogun State and ready to support him. We will support him with prayers, financial, moral , emotional, anything we have, we will use to support him" he concluded 

While speaking on their plan for Senator Yayi ahead of the general elections, he said

"Our plan is to campaign for him , to let him know while garment churches are behind him we bring out all our resources to make sure he becomes the governor because he has shown us that he is capable and he has touched many people's lives by the special grace of God, Yayi will become the next governor of the State"

Meanwhile, a member of the union from Ayetoro parish, Evangelist Michael Olaifa commended the APC governorship candidate for his good jobs as a Senator, saying that the union will work tirelessly in ensuring that he wins at the polls.
