The creation of enabling environment has been identified as a catalyst to qualitative and effective service delivery.
Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, stated this at the official commissioning of the new Chairman’s office and facelift of the Sagamu Local Government secretariat at the Council Secretariat.
Oba Ajayi, noted that true essence of leadership was not measured by structures erected but by quality of service inspired, adding that every institution of government should remain a place where integrity, accountability and welfare of the people were held of the highest priorities.
“I hope that this edifice will serve as a centre of purposeful administration, responsive leadership and meaningful engagement with people” he said.
He encouraged the youths to remain law-abiding, productive, innovative and committed to nation building, urging them to continue to support initiatives that would promote growth, protect public infrastructure and contribute positively to the development of the communities.
The Monarch commended the leadership of the Local Government for the laudable achievement, encouraging them to continue to pursue policies and programmes that would improve lives of the people and advance development of the grassroot.
While congratulating the Chairman for the achievement, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, encouraged him to extend the gesture to other members of staff by renovating their offices to enhance their performance and improve qualitative service delivery, urging them to imbibe maintenance culture in preserving government’s property.
In his remarks, the Local Government Chairman, Ogbeni Jubril Odulate, disclosed that the project was solely executed with the Internally Generated Revenue of the council, noted that this had reflected that taxpayers’ money could be prudently and transparently utilised to enhance sustainable development of the grassroot.
He appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for his continued support in making the project a reality, reaffirming his administration’s continuous commitment to delivering more people-oriented projects to further enhance development at the grassroot and improve the standard of living of the citizenry.
In an interview, members of staff of the Council, Comrade Odemona Olutosin and Mrs. Aminat Odeyinka, appreciated the government for the support, pledging their continued support to government’s programmes and policies to enhance development of the grassroot.
