A senior chieftain of the Ogun State chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has disclosed that the party has settled on Dr. Bolaji Marie Odusina as its governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State gubernatorial election.

According to the party leader, the decision followed extensive consultations and careful consideration of the evolving political landscape in the state.

The source expressed confidence in the NDC's chances at the polls, arguing that the electorate is seeking an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The chieftain maintained that the party is well-positioned to mount a strong challenge in the 2027 election.

Speaking on the choice of candidate, the party official described Dr. Odusina as a leader with extensive local and international exposure, whose professional accomplishments and leadership experience make her well-equipped to govern Ogun State.

"We are confident that Dr. Bolaji Marie Odusina possesses the vision, competence, and experience required to lead Ogun State to greater heights," the chieftain said, adding that the party believes her candidacy represents a new direction for the state's development.

As of the time of filing this report, the NDC had not issued an official public statement announcing the nomination.
