The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), in Osun State, just hours after the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Adeyemi was taken into custody after he failed to appear before Justice Mohammed Umar on Tuesday for his scheduled arraignment on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Federal High Court granted an application by the prosecution, led by the Inspector-General of Police, for a bench warrant after Adeyemi was absent when the case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, was called.
The charges against Adeyemi and two other defendants were filed on November 27, 2025, by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki. The prosecution accused them of forgery, fraud and impersonation in connection with the activities of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
Among the prosecution witnesses expected to testify during the trial are the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Paul Emmanuel, Jeremiah Imoukhede and Ituah Sylvester. Officials from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Akimbo Shola and Adamu Balongu, as well as a Deputy Superintendent of Police, are also listed as witnesses.
