OMOYAYI Does It Again! Senator Salisu Boosts Ogun Central Market Women with ₦15m in OKOWO SALISU Empowerment Drive

ABEOKUTA — There was widespread jubilation and renewed hope for grassroots traders as Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu (OMOYAYI), FNCS, splashed a massive ₦15 million on market women across Ogun Central Senatorial District in the latest round of the OKOWO SALISU empowerment programme.

The exciting intervention took place during a lively engagement with leaders of market women and men at the office of the Iyaloja of Egbaland, Chief (Mrs.) Oluwakemi Abeke Oloyede, in Asero, and at the Secretariat in Ake, Abeokuta.

The high-energy gathering brought together Iyalojas and Babalojas from the six local government areas of Ogun Central, giving the Senator a direct connection with the heartbeat of the local economy.

Speaking with passion, Senator Salisu declared:

“I am here today not simply to make a donation, but to stand with our market women and acknowledge the important role they play in our communities. When we strengthen our women, we strengthen our families, our markets and the entire local economy of Ogun Central.”

He reminded the excited crowd that the OKOWO SALISU programme had earlier empowered over 500 constituents with ₦100,000 each in December 2025, and that this new ₦15 million package is clear proof that the initiative is not a one-off gesture.

“OKOWO SALISU was born out of a simple conviction: that government and representation must touch people’s lives directly. The support we provided in December was not meant to be a one-off gesture. Today’s intervention is another step in that journey, and we will continue to look for ways to support our people within the resources available to us.”

The Senator, visibly delighted by the warm reception, described the engagement as a true partnership and promised to remain accessible and responsive to the people.

The latest cash boost further expands the reach of the OKOWO SALISU empowerment drive, with Senator Salisu reaffirming his commitment to people-oriented representation across Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Odeda, Obafemi Owode, Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the money productively and assured constituents that more practical support is on the way for market men and women, entrepreneurs, youths and vulnerable groups across Ogun Central.
