…Councillors Say Intervention Has Restored Hope in Communities

Residents of communities in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State have expressed appreciation to the member representing Ijebu-Ode/Odogbolu/Ijebu North-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adeleke Olufemi Ogunbanwo (Omo-Iwa), for his intervention in providing access to potable water through solar-powered borehole projects.

The commendation came separately from councillors representing Ward 11, Ita-Epo/Moraika, and Ward 10, Ilado/Akio, who said the projects had brought relief to residents who had experienced difficulties accessing clean and reliable water.

In a statement signed by the Councillor representing Ita-Epo/Moraika, Hon. Ekitunde Olukoya, JP, the people of the ward expressed gratitude to Ogunbanwo for providing a solar-powered water facility at Unit 9, Federal Housing Estate, Ikoto.

Hon. Olukoya, who is also the Majority Leader of Odogbolu Local Government, described the intervention as a fulfilment of the lawmaker’s promise to support the provision of basic social amenities to the people.

He said access to water had brought “solace and relief” to residents, particularly households that had struggled with the availability of water.

The councillor, on behalf of the people of Ita-Epo/Moraika, urged the lawmaker to sustain his interventions in the communities, assuring him of their continued support.

Similarly, the Councillor representing Ward 10, Ilado/Akio, Hon. Odutola Sikiru Oluwatosin, commended Hon. Ogunbanwo for the ongoing solar-powered borehole project at Unit 3, Odosenlu.

In a letter dated September 4, 2026, Hon. Oluwatosin said the project was a significant intervention for residents of Ilado, Imodi Ijasi, Abatiwa, Odosenlu and Akio.

He said the provision of the water project had brought relief and joy to communities that had endured prolonged difficulty in accessing clean water.

“Water is life and water is good for everyone,” the councillor said, describing the intervention as a blessing to the people.

Hon. Oluwatosin expressed appreciation to Hon. Ogunbanwo for remembering people at the grassroots and for his continued interventions in the constituency.

He said the appreciation was on behalf of the elders, women, youths and children of Ward 10, adding that the people remained grateful for the attention given to their basic needs.
