The Second batch of Ogun State Pilgrims has arrived at Prince Mohammad Bin Addulaziz International Airport in Medina Saudi Arabia, joining their counterparts to commence Hajj rites at exactly 12.12AM.
The Executive Secretary, Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB), Alhaji Ajibola Taiwo, stated this on Thursday, 15th, 2025, in an interview with newsmen in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
"This will be the last batch of intending Pilgrims to be airlifted by the State for the year 2025 pilgrimage, "he said.
Ajibola disclosed that 675 intending Pilgrims successfully cleared for the screening, adding that 428 had earlier been airlifted, bringing the total numbers of intending Pilgrims to holy land in Medina, Saudi Arabia to 675 for the year 2025 Hajj rites.
According to him, spiritual fathers were on ground to teach and guide the intending pilgrims, noting that many People desired to perform Hajj with the State Muslim Board due to its track record on Pilgrimage.
"Our performance has always been made possible by support we usually receive from the State government, especially in the area of logistics, "he said.
He urged the Pilgrims to adhere to the rules and comply with the directives of Hajj officials.
Speaking, the Amirul Hajj of Ogun State, Alhaji Samsudeen Apelogun, admonished the intending Pilgrims to uphold standard of character and Conduct during their stay in the Holy land.
He added that there were series of welfare Package and largess for the Ogun State contiguous pilgrims as provided by Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to ensure the comfort of all throughout the Pilgrimage exercise.
In their separate remarks, two of the intending Pilgrims, Alhaja Toheebat Quadri and Alhaji Dauda Ajayi, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for their smooth journey to Medina and praised the efforts of the State government at ensuring pilgrims’ safety and good accommodation arrangements made by the Board.
